Hello ladies!

I know it has been forever since there has been an update and I apologize. Gmail and WordPress do NOT like me and we were locked out of the account since I couldn’t use my cell phone to link accounts. ACK! Anyway, things are fixed now and we’re ready for a wonderful, eventful year! We have a new meeting space, thanks to Olde Towne Family Chiropractic Care. They are allowing us to use their space in Portsmouth. We won’t get kicked out, we can start a bit later (TRAFFIC!), and their space is AWESOME! Our first meeting of the year will be tomorrow, and we will be featuring childbirth educators from the area. They will be talking about what they offer and you will have the opportunity to talk with them to find the class that best suits your needs. We hope to see you tomorrow and through the rest of the year!

Please join us in our new HUGE meeting space! Because our time is limited, we will begin promptly at 5:45. Either Stephanie or myself will be there by 5:30 to open the room. Babes in arms are welcome, but please leave toddlers and older siblings home with a loved one. For this event, attendance is limited to mothers who need to work through their births or are expecting a VBAC. This is a safe space to talk about your birth and hear from other mothers who have been there and understand how you feel. While none of us are therapists or counselors, we offer peer-to-peer advice and support. If you need further assistance, we will also provide resources.

Help ICAN with Macy’s Shop For A Cause

Every year, Macy’s hold an event called Shop For a Cause. People purchase shopping passes for $5.00 and then get to use the passes at Macy’s. These passes are good for Saturday, August 27th and entitle you, the bearer to 25% all day! You can use it for 25% off regular, sale, and clearance items, including home, and even most brands usually excluded. You can also use it for 10% off electronics/electrics, furniture, mattresses…, and rugs/ floor coverings. Passes are good at all Macy’s stores and can even be used on-line! Want us to mail you a pass? Send $5.50 for postage to ICANofHR@gmail.com through PayPal and we’ll send one right out! You can also pick up passes at the meeting July 17, at the Churchland Public Library, or at the August event. PLEASE help support your local ICAN Chapter! We’re looking to expand our lending library and other resources, but we can’t do it without you! ICAN gets to keep every penny of the $5.00 pass price, so it all stays RIGHT HERE! New Location!

WHEW! It’s been a whirlwind event trying to pin down a place to hold our beloved meetings. We have found a home for the rest of the year! We will be meeting at the Churchland Branch of the Portsmouth Public Library. The space is free, can acomodate large groups, has a projector and screen on hand, and has bathrooms and a well-lit parking lot: PERFECT! We hope to see you in our new location this coming Wednesday!

Topic: Choosing a Provider

Time: 6:30 PM

This meeting will focus on questions to ask and factors to consider when choosing your care provider. Whether this is your first baby, a planned VBAC, or a scheduled cesarean, choosing your care provider is still a very important decision!

Doors lock automatically at 6:45. If you are late, you will need to be let in. Text 757-268-1709 or 757-503-0545 if you’re running late. PLEASE arrive on time so that we can start on time and get out at a decent hour, as well as avoid interruption.

Babes in arms are welcome. Feel free to bring a light snack to share.
